TEHRAN, Iran, July 3 (NNN-IRNA) – Iran exported 13 billion U.S. dollars’ worth of goods and services to Iraq, in the past Iranian calendar year ending in March, up 37 percent year-on-year, Press TV reported Tuesday.
Most of Iran’s exports to Iraq were technical and engineering services, offered by the Iranian private sector, said Yahya Al Eshaq, head of Iran-Iraq Chamber of Commerce.
Iranian contractors have been awarded more than four billion U.S. dollars’ worth of projects, in construction and industry sectors in Iraq, with more than half of them being executed, he added.
Iran’s exports to Iraq could meet the target of 20 billion dollars in the near future, as there are “some extraordinary areas of cooperation” between the two neighbouring countries, he noted.– NNN-IRNA
