Bolivia continues to demand Chile for a sovereign sea exit

LA PAZ, July 1 (NNN-Prensa Latina) — Bolivia is insisting on seeking a solution with Chile for a sovereign sea exit, in tribute to peace and justice, according to the Bolivian Foreign Minister, Diego Pary.

Diego Pary referred to this maritime conflict during his speech at the 49th regular session of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS), held in Colombia.

In October 2018, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) exempted Chile from its obligation to negotiate a sovereign sea exit for Bolivia, but argued for a dialogue between the two nations for a final solution to confinement situation Bolivia has been facing for 140 years.

Pary explained to the member countries of that multilateral organization that Bolivia embraced the principles and objectives of the OAS letter by raising before the General Assembly for years and then before the ICJ, the need to find a solution to its confinement and get a sovereign sea exit. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
