Six Daesh Militants Killed In Air Strike, Anti-Daesh Operation In Northern Iraq

BAGHDAD, Iraq, July 1 (NNN-NINA) – Six Daesh militants were killed, Sunday, in an air strike, carried out by the U.S.-led coalition, and an operation by Iraqi security forces, in the northern province of Nineveh, the Iraqi army said.

Acting on intelligence reports, the U.S.-led coalition aircraft carried out an air strike on a tunnel, used by the militants as a hideout, in Ayn al-Jahesh, in the provincial capital, Mosul, the media office of the Joint Operations Command (JOC) said, in a statement.

Four extremist militants were killed in the air strike, which was conducted in coordination with Nineveh’s Operations Command, the statement said.

Also in the province, Iraqi security forces conducted an operation in the village of Um Haram, in the west of Mosul, killing two Daesh militants and confiscating an explosive belt and an assault rifle, as well as, their vehicle and motorcycle, the JOC said, in a separate statement.– NNN-NINA
