Palestinian President’s Spokesperson Says U.S. Has Not Learnt From “Failure” Of Manama Workshop

RAMALLAH, Palestine, June 30 (NNN-WAFA) – Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas’s Spokesperson, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, said that “the U.S. administration has not learnt anything from the fiasco of the Manama workshop.”

“The significant failure of the Manama workshop … should send a clear message to Trump … that the policy of dictates, threats and coercion is no longer effective with our steadfast people,” Abu Rudeineh said.

“The U.S. president relies on a team that is totally biased towards Israel, which cannot offer solutions leading to a lasting and just peace,” the statement added.

Last week, Bahrain and the United States jointly organised a two-day economic workshop in Manama, under the title “Peace to Prosperity,” which was opposed by Palestinians.

The Palestinian Authority declared boycott of the U.S. administration, since it recognised Jerusalem as Israel’s capital in Dec, 2017, and moved its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem last May.

The U.S. administration has taken several steps against the Palestinians, including shutting down the Palestine Liberation Organisation office in Washington, and cutting aid to the only UN agency providing support to the Palestinian refugees.– NNN-WAFA
