LA PAZ, June 27 (NNN-Prensa Latina) — Bolivian Hydrocarbons Minister Luis Alberto Sanchez announced Wednesday his country will implement the first Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) installations in Peruvian territory in less than a month.
From the agreements signed on Tuesday in the binational cabinet, it is planned to build gas networks in the Peruvian cities bordering the border, to export LNG to the sectors of commerce, domicile and industries.
Sanchez said that it is also expected to strengthen the export of Liquefied Petroleum Gas to the neighboring country, so Peru is emerging as the fourth largest destination for Bolivian gas.
Likewise, he added that a site in the neighboring country will be searched for Bolivian Fiscal Oil Fields (YPFB) to install a gutted plant and provide LPG to the Peruvian south.
On the other hand, noted that through another memorandum of underestanding signed weeks ago in the city of Tarija (south) is expected to export up to 10 million cubic meters of gas for the provision of energy to two Peruvian thermoelectric plants.
He also stated that Peru plans to build a gas pipeline to the south of its country, and Bolivia another to the Peruvian town of Ilo, so they agreedit to join both at a certain point to increase the interconnection of gas between the two countries. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
