RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, June 26 (NNN-SPA) – The Saudi-led coalition announced the arrest of Abu Osama al-Muhajir, leader of the Daesh in Yemen.
Coalition spokesperson, Col. Turki al-Malki, said, the operation was conducted by Saudi special forces, in cooperation with Yemeni government’s special forces on June 3.
The Yemen-branch Daesh chief financial officer and some other members were also arrested in the operation, he said.
Close surveillance on a house showed the presence of the terrorist group leader and other elements, along with three women and three children, Malki added.
No injuries were reported among the women and children inside the house, nor was there any collateral damage to civilians, he noted.
Several weapons, ammunition, laptops, computers, cash in various currencies, electronic devices, GPS and communication devices and other possessions were seized in the operation.– NNN-SPA
