Peru leads reputation ranking among Latin American countries

LIMA, June 26 (NNN-ANDINA) — Peru ranks first among Latin American countries in the 2019 Country RepTrakPeru’s Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) disclosed.

According to the latest ranking made by the Reputation Institute, the Inca country climbed two positions compared to last year’s report.

Likewise, it ranks 25th (62.2 points) in the global ranking, surpassing Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, and Chile.

On the other hand, FutureBrand’s 2019 Country Index indicated Peru has moved up 12 spots (from 49 to 37).

Likewise, it points out that the Inca country is part of the group —alongside Slovakia, Romania, Hungary, and Turkey— that has the most improved perceptions over time, as it jumped significantly between the 2014 and 2019 studies.

Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Edgar Vasquez said these achievements —result of the Inca country’s promotion strategy— should make Peruvians feel proud and motivate them to keep working hard, boost exports, as well as continue attracting investments and international tourists.

Founded in 1997, The Reputation Institute measures more than 7,000 companies per year, across 55 countries, and 20 different industries.

The FutureBrand Country Index measures the strength of perception of countries around the world in the same way they study consumer or corporate brands.

Now in its second decade, the Index reorders the World Bank Top 75 countries by GDP according to strength of perception. — NNN-ANDINA
