DOHA, Qatar, June 25 (NNN-QNA) – Qatar announced new investments worth a total of three billion U.S. dollars, in the form of deposits and direct investments to Pakistan, according to a statement by the Qatari Foreign Ministry.
“The Qatari support comes after the Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani’s visit to Pakistan, to underscore deep relations between the two countries and peoples,” Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, said.
He said, Qatar’s financial support for Pakistan also expresses Doha’s confidence in the strength of Pakistan’s economy, and the vision and good management of the current government, headed by Prime Minister, Imran Khan.
“By announcing this new investment package, the size of the Qatari-Pakistani economic partnership will amount to nine billion U.S. dollars,” said the Qatari foreign minister.
The Qatari Emir had a two-day state visit to Pakistan, on June 22-23, for talks on bilateral issues, focusing on economic cooperation.– NNN-QNA
