ALMATY, Apr 24 (NNN-KTA) – Kazakhstan produced 17.2 billion cubic metres of gas, in the first quarter of this year, Kazinformation news agency reported, citing a statement by Energy Minister, Yerlan Akkenzhenov, yesterday.
According to Akkenzhenov, gas production last year totalled 59 billion cubic metres. The gas production target for this year is set at 62.8 billion cubic metres.
At a government meeting, the minister also announced that, Kazakhstan’s state gas company, QazaqGaz, is conducting exploration work at 15 sites, with total gas reserves estimated at 535.5 billion cubic metres.
He further stated that, from 2026 to 2030, four gas processing plants will be gradually commissioned at various gas fields across Kazakhstan.– NNN-KTA
