Unleasing Productivity Potential: Leveraging Behavioural Insights in Policy-making

PUTRAJAYA, April 22 (Bernama) — MPC has been mandated to develop the Behavioural Insights (BI) initiatives in Malaysia since 2020. The government is adopting Good Regulatory Practices (GRP) to increase transparency, especially in disseminating information related to implementation of policies and changes in law and regulations. One method employed to increase information transfer and adoption of behavioural insights in policy- making is holding a number of conferences on BI.

In 2024 the National BI Conference focused on developing a national understanding, capacity and agenda for BI, focusing on a national conversation about BI in Malaysia. This year, the theme focused on enhancing GRP to improve productivity by applying the BI approach in policy-making, developing deeper understanding through experience sharing, exchanging best practices, and recognising practical BI tools and methodologies in developing strategies for effective policy implementation across various country contexts. It also aims to build a strong BI community through a recognition ceremony, experiential learning, and exploring ways to integrate BI into productivity strategies.
