Kenya: Five family members murdered in cold blood in revenge mission in Kisii County

NAIROBI, April 19 (NNN-KBC) — Five family members, including a visitor and a child, have tragically lost their lives in a brutal mob attack in Kisii County.

The incident occurred in Siroroko village, Metembe, Masaba South, where the mob invaded the homestead and hacked the victims to death.

One family member managed to escape the horrific attack and reported the incident at Ramasha Police Station, with some alleging it was a revenge mission.

Residents, who declined to comment on camera for fear of victimization, claimed the victims had previously been accused of killing another person and concealing the act at a brick-making field.

They had been arrested and arraigned in court, but were acquitted due to a lack of sufficient evidence to convict them.

The area Deputy County Commissioner, Jane Munene, condemned the murders, attributing them to the mob’s illegal actions in taking the law into their own hands.

According to the DCC, two houses were torched in the chilling incident, as she extended condolences to the bereaved family.

She explained that a crisis sub-county security meeting had been convened, urging residents to volunteer information in confidence to the authorities for prompt action.

Chiefs, assistant chiefs, and ‘Nyumba Kumi’ members were put on high alert to ensure calm was restored, she added. — NNN-KBC
