YAOUNDE, June 24 (NNN-XINHUA) —About 22 people were killed and several others injured on Sunday along the Batie-Baham road in Cameroon’s West Region after a bus carrying them skidded and collided head-on with a truck, police said.
“Nineteen people died at the scene of the accident and the three others died in the hospital where doctors were trying to save their lives,” the region’s governor, Augustine Awa Fonka told reporters.
Police said the death toll will likely increase because there were still dead bodies buried beneath the damaged bus.
