HAVANA, April 14 (NNN-ACN) — Cuban Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) thanked the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela for donating 90,000 doses of the duple bacterial vaccine that protects against diphtheria and tetanus.
According to the agency’s website, this immunogen is part of the scheme established in the National Immunization Program and is administered to children in the first grade of school throughout the country.
Both diseases were eliminated in Cuba in the 1970s, according to the press release.
With actions such as these, solidarity among our peoples grows stronger every day, in the face of the hostility of imperialism and the cruel blockade imposed on us by the United States government, Minsap added.
