Kenya: 13 die in grisly 3-vehicle accident on Sotik-Kericho highway

NAIROBI, April 6 (NNN-KBC) — Thirteen people have died and 11 others are seriously injured in a road accident involving three vehicles at Cheptangulke area, Bomet County, along the Kericho-Kaplong highway.

According to police reports, the fatal crash occurred on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. when a lorry, a Nissan matatu, and a private car (Nissan Mazda) collided.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the private car was speeding and playing loud music at the time of the crash. It is suspected that the car was being driven recklessly, which may have caused the collision.

The injured were rushed to Kaplong and Kapkatet Hospitals. Police have launched a probe into the accident. — NNN-KBC
