Emir Of Qatar Arrives In Pakistan On Two-Day State Visit

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, June 23 (NNN-PPI) – The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, arrived in Pakistan on Saturday, on a two-day state visit, at the invitation of Pakistani Prime Minister, Imran Khan, for talks on bilateral matters.

Imran Khan welcomed the Emir, on his arrival at a military base, near the capital Islamabad, the prime minister’s office said.

A 21-gun salute boomed out when the Qatari leader alighted from his special aircraft. Two children, attired in traditional Pakistani dresses presented bouquets to the guest.

The Emir of Qatar will hold talks with the prime minister and Pakistani President, Arif Alvi, to explore ways to boost cooperation in various fields, officials said.

Foreign Ministry spokesman, Mohammad Faisal, said that, the Qatari Emir is accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising key ministers and senior officials, to discuss ways and means of building a robust and mutually beneficial economic partnership. The Qatari Emir had earlier visited Pakistan in March, 2015.

During the visit, Pakistan and Qatar are expected to sign several agreements on enhanced bilateral cooperation in different areas.– NNN-PPI
