TEGUCIGALPA, March 25 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — The Honduran Armed Forces (FFAA) confiscated a plantation with 7,000 coca bushes and another with 1,000 marijuana plants in the northern department of Colón over the weekend, media sources reported,

In coordination with the Public Prosecutor’s Office (Prosecutor’s Office), the military located and seized the first coca plantation in the Botaderos mountain range, in the municipality of Tocoa, in the Honduran Caribbean.

The crop, spread over two blocks of land, had plants up to two meters tall.

Through long-range patrols, the Armed Forces also seized a marijuana plantation in Tocoa, covering an area of ​​one block of land and 1,000 marijuana bushes.

Special operations teams continue to conduct reconnaissance missions in various sectors of the Central American nation to identify and secure more crops.

The Armed Forces emphasized in a statement that, with these actions, they reaffirm their commitment to combating drug trafficking, protecting the country’s security and the peace of Hondurans.
