NAIROBI, March 23 (NNN-KBC) — Four people have died in a road accident in Tapaach area along the Moroto-Napak road in Uganda.
West Pokot County Commissioner Khaliff Abdullahi confirmed the accident, which occurred Saturday evening, stating that investigations are underway in collaboration with Ugandan authorities to determine the cause of the crash.
The identities of the victims have not been officially released as their families are yet to be notified.
However, local sources indicate that two of the deceased were politicians, one had contested for the Kapenguria MP seat in the 2022 elections, while the other had vied for an MCA position.
Kenyan and Ugandan authorities coordinated the repatriation of the bodies, which have since been taken to Cherangany Mortuary in Kitale.
The deceased were reportedly part of a delegation accompanying Pokot South MP David Pkosing on a cross-border tour of Kenya and Uganda.
Sook Ward MCA Martin Komongiro survived the crash but sustained injuries and has been taken to Eldoret for specialised treatment. — NNN-KBC
