MANILA, Mar 23 (NNN-PNA) – A forward truck lost its break while travelling on a highway in Benguet province, in northern Philippines yesterday afternoon, and crashed into eight other vehicles along the way, killing a motorcyclist and injuring several others, police said.
Police said, the crash occurred at around 3.00 p.m. local time in Tuba, a municipality in the province.
According to the police, the truck first hit a car in front of it, before crashing into a parked car, then continued moving forward for about 150 metres, colliding with multiple vehicles, including two motorcycles, before finally stopping on the shoulder of the road.
Police said, the male driver of one of the motorcycles was killed.
Emergency workers took the injured people, including the truck driver, to hospital for treatment.
Police took the truck driver into custody, while an investigation was underway.– NNN-PNA
