
NAIROBI, March 20 (NNN-KBC) — Kenya and China are coming up with a Memorandum of Understanding in the media sector as a way of deepening cooperation between the two nations.
State Department for Broadcasting and Telecommunications Principal Secretary Prof. Edward Kisiangani, said that the collaboration will be centered on economic empowerment, as well as building capacity for reportage of the governments led five pillars.
Speaking on Wednesday when he hosted the Chinese Deputy Chief of Mission, Zhang Zhizhong together with Kenya Broadcasting Cooperation Managing Director Agnes Kelekye, Kisiangani said it is time the media graduates from the traditional way of reporting and focus on success stories of both countries.
The PS further noted that China’s investments in Kenya are enormous and in the media space, the Ministry of Information together with Kenya Broadcasting Corporation can benefit through training, capacity building and even the upgrade of infrastructure. — NNN-KBC
