Grenade Attack On Temple In India’s Punjab Damaged Walls, Shattered Window Panes

NEW DELHI, Mar 16 (NNN-PTI) – A grenade attack on a Hindu temple, in the northern Indian state of Punjab, has damaged its walls and shattered window panes, police said yesterday.

However, no loss of life or injuries have been reported in the attack.

According to police, the attack was carried out early yesterday in Khandwala area of Amritsar, the Sikh holy city in Punjab.

The attack triggered panic among residents in the area.

A video of the attack captured on CCTV showed, two unidentified persons coming to the Thakur Dwar temple on a motorcycle. After waiting for a few seconds outside it, one of them hurled something towards the temple, and then they fled from the spot on their motorcycle. Within no time, the explosion took place, emitting shrapnel.

Police have registered a case and ordered an investigation into the attack.– NNN-PTI
