ISLAMABAD, Mar 16 (NNN-APP) – Nine terrorists were killed, when Pakistani security forces conducted two separate operations, in the north-western Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the military said in a statement, yesterday.
The operations were carried out in Mohmand and Dera Ismail Khan districts, on Friday and yesterday, based on intelligence, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military’s media wing, said in the statement.
In the first operation in Mohmand, two soldiers and seven militants were killed, when security forces launched a raid on a hideout of militants.
In another operation, two militants were neutralised, during an armed confrontation with security forces, the statement added.
Pakistani security forces have intensified counterterrorism operations in recent months, following a surge in militant attacks in the country’s north-western and south-western regions.– NNN-APP
