Venezuela, US to resume migrant repatriation flights

CARACAS, March 14 (NNN-XINHUA) — Venezuela and the United States agreed to resume repatriation flights for undocumented Venezuelan migrants in the United States as part of the South American country’s “Return to the Homeland” plan.

According to a Venezuelan government statement, the agreement was reached with US special envoy Richard Grenell “to repatriate Venezuelan brothers and sisters in the United States” in line with Venezuela’s commitment to defending human rights and promoting “family reunification.”

The statement emphasized Venezuela’s commitment to supporting its citizens no matter where they are and expressed joy at the reunion of families as Venezuelans return home.

The repatriation flights had been suspended following US President Donald Trump’s decision to revoke energy corporation Chevron’s operating license in Venezuela. — NNN-XINHUA
