DUSHANBE, Mar 11 (NNN-KNA) – Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan signed a memorandum for the implementation of a project, aimed at strengthening stability in the border areas between the two countries, Trend news agency reported yesterday, citing the Committee on Emergency Situations and Civil Defence of Tajikistan.
The project involves the construction of one shelter and two sports fields, with a budget of three million euros (about 3.2 million U.S. dollars), and the European Union delegation in Tajikistan as the main investor. The primary objective of the project is to create infrastructure that can be used in the event of natural disasters.
The project will be implemented in the Sughd region of Tajikistan, where shelters will be built using modern technologies. These facilities will enable a prompt response to emergencies, provide assistance to the affected population, and offer temporary shelter for potential refugees, according to the report.– NNN-KNA
