YANGON, Mar 5 (NNN-MNA) – Myanmar authorities seized a significant amount of narcotics, the state-run daily, The Mirror, reported today.
Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotics police searched a vehicle that had stopped at a bus station, on the Yangon-Mandalay Highway on Feb 16, and confiscated 440 kg of ICE (methamphetamine).
Further investigations led to the seizure of 700 kg of ICE in Mingaladon township of Yangon region, the report said.
Additionally, 260 kg of ICE and 400 heroin blocks weighing 168 kg were seized in Mayangone township of Yangon region, it added.
Individuals linked to the drug case have been charged under the country’s law, and further investigations are ongoing, the report said.– NNN-MNA
