HAVANA, March 1 (NNN-ACN) — In tune with bilateral US-Cuba migration accords, a flight from the United States returned 104 irregular Cuban migrants through Havana’s Jose Marti International Airport.
The group included 84 men, 19 women and a minor. One of the adults was submitted to investigations for allegedly having committed crimes before departing the island, and another two persons were detained for having left the country illegally, while being under probation, according to an article posted on the website of the Cuban Foreign Ministry.
This action along another one carried out last Jan 23 have taken the number of return operations to 11, involving 296 irregular migrants this year from different countries of the region.
Cuba maintains its firm commitment to a regular, safe and orderly migration and reiterates it warning about the danger and risky conditions entailed by illegal departures by sea. — NNN-ACN
