GAZA, Mar 1 (NNN-WAFA) – Hamas, yesterday, called on the international community to pressure Israel to enter the second phase of the Gaza peace deal immediately.
“We call on the mediators, guarantors and the international community, to pressure the occupation, to fully commit to its role in the agreement, and immediately enter the second phase of it without any hesitation or evasion,” Hamas said in a statement.
“With the end of the first phase of the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement, Hamas confirms its full commitment to implementing all the terms of the agreement in all its stages and details,” it said.
The final exchange of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners under the first phase of the truce was completed overnight between Wednesday and Thursday. The 42-day initial phase of the three-stage agreement is set to expire today.– NNN-WAFA
