Teenager Killed In Crash During Sydney Police Chase

SYDNEY, Feb 28 (NNN-AAP) – A 17-year-old died and three more teenagers have been hospitalised, after an allegedly stolen vehicle, that was being chased by police, crashed, north-west of Sydney.

Police in the state of New South Wales (NSW), said today that, four teenagers allegedly stole a vehicle from a petrol station, in the small town of Narromine, 330 kilometres north-west of Sydney, at about 11:15 p.m. last night.

The vehicle was spotted over 100 kilometres away, almost an hour later by officers who initiated a pursuit.

NSW Police said that, the chase was called off a short time later but reinitiated at 12:45 a.m. in Coolabah, almost 200 kilometres from Narromine, with officers deploying road spikes.

The vehicle crashed and rolled in the township of Bourke, 320 kilometres from Narromine and 650 kilometres north-west of Sydney, at 1:30 a.m.

NSW Police said that, officers immediately rendered assistance to the four occupants of the car but a 17-year-old boy died at the scene.

Three other boys, aged 13, 14 and 16, were treated by ambulance paramedics and taken to a local hospital. The 14-year-old was later airlifted to the Sydney Children’s Hospital, in a serious condition.

The 13-year-old was in a serious condition this morning, and the 16-year-old was stable.– NNN-AAP
