BAGHDAD, Feb 22 (NNN-NINA) – The Iraqi military said yesterday that, its forces had destroyed 25 sites used by the Daesh militants, in a mountainous area in northern Iraq.
Forces from Iraq’s Counter-Terrorism Service, carried out an operation in the Makhmour area, some 100 km south-east of Nineveh’s provincial capital, Mosul, and destroyed 18 Daesh hideouts and seven tunnels, according to a statement from the Security Media Cell, a media outlet affiliated with the Iraqi Joint Operations Command.
The forces also found human remains, as well as, explosive devices, ammunition, two drones, a motorcycle, and other logistical materials, the statement said, without giving further details about the human remains.– NNN-NINA
