Kazakhstan Seeks Talk With Ukraine Over Drone Attack On Caspian Pipeline

ALMATY, Feb 20 (NNN-TAT) – Kazakh diplomats will discuss with Ukraine, the recent attack on the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, given the pipeline’s importance for the Kazakh economy, Kazakh Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Aibek Smadiyarov said, as reported by the Kazinform news agency, yesterday.

“This issue is very important for the Kazakh economy, so, naturally, we will discuss the situation with Ukrainian partners through diplomatic channels,” said Smadiyarov.

The Kropotkinskaya oil pumping station, the largest facility of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, in Russia’s Krasnodar region, came under drone attack on Monday, by seven unmanned aerial vehicles, loaded with explosives and shrapnel.

Oil flow through the Caspian pipeline has fallen by about 30 to 40 percent, following the drone attack, according to a senior Russian official.– NNN-TAT
