TIANJIN, China, Feb 19 (Bernama-AsiaNet) — Tianjin Binhai High-tech Industrial Development Area (Tianjin Binhai High-tech Area) was established in 1988 (https://www.tht.gov.cn), with approval from the Tianjin Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Tianjin Municipal People’s Government. In 1991, it was approved by the State Council to become one of the first national-level high-tech industrial development zones. In 2014, it was designated as a national independent innovation demonstration area.
The area has developed a high-end industrial system which is centered on the new generation information technology industry and supported by emerging services, biomedicine, new energy, and high-end equipment manufacturing.
