YANGON, Feb 18 (NNN-MNA) – Myanmar police have destroyed 30 acres of opium poppy fields in eastern Myanmar’s Shan state, state-run daily Myanma Alinn reported today.
The fields were located in Hsihseng township of Pa-O self-administered zone in Shan state, the report said.
On Feb 15, police, along with other local authorities, arrived in the township and destroyed the poppy fields at three different locations, it added.
Police are continuing operations to eradicate the remaining poppy fields in the township, the report said.– NNN-MNA
