JAKARTA, Feb 14 (NNN-ANTARA) – As many as 65,000 people have benefited from the recently launched Free Health Check programme, Indonesia’s Deputy Health Minister, Dante Saksono Harbuwono, announced, yesterday.
“As of yesterday, 65,000 people had benefited. We hope for broader outreach so that more people can take advantage of this programme,” said Dante.
Cardiovascular disease remains one of the deadliest health issues in Indonesia, claiming over 600,000 lives annually. The Free Health Check programme, which began on Monday, aims to reduce premature deaths and improve overall health quality.
Mental health screenings are also included in the programme, as a Ministry of Health evaluation found that, 34.6 percent of teenagers have experienced deteriorating mental health.– NNN-ANTARA
