Kazakh President Signs Decree For New Draft Of Compulsory Military Service

ALMATY, Feb 14 (NNN-XINHUA) – Kazakh President, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, signed a decree, on the dismissal of conscripted servicemen to the reserve, and the drafting of Kazakh citizens for compulsory military service in 2025, a statement from the Kazakh presidential press service said.

The decree stipulates that conscripted servicemen, who have completed their required service, will be discharged from the Armed Forces, Interior Ministry, Emergency Situations Ministry, National Security Committee, and State Guard Service between March-June and Sept-Dec, 2025.

At the same time, male citizens aged 18 to 27, who are not eligible for deferment or exemption must be drafted for compulsory military service during these same periods.

The decree also assigns local executive authorities, the responsibility of organising and overseeing the conscription process through appropriate military control bodies.

Additionally, the government, National Security Committee, and State Guard Service are directed to provide financial and logistical support for the deployment of conscripts, and the discharge of military personnel, who have completed their service.– NNN-XINHUA
