Five Rescued After Fishing Boat Capsized Off S. Korea’s Southern Island

SEOUL, Feb 13 (NNN-YONHAP) – Five people were rescued, after a fishing boat with 10 people on board capsized, off South Korea’s southern resort island of Jeju yesterday, multiple media outlets said.

The coast guard received a distress signal at about 7:56 p.m. local time (1056 GMT) from the 33-tonne fishing vessel.

A 500-tonne coast guard ship was sent to the scene, finding the fishing boat overturned and rescuing five people.

A wind wave advisory was issued in nearby waters, with the wind at 18-20 metres per second and waves rising three metres high.– NNN-YONHAP
