Daily Oil Production At Tengiz, Kazakhstan Increased To 870,000 Barrels In January

ALMATY, Feb 6 (NNN-XINHUA) – Daily oil production at the Tengiz field in Jan, increased to 870,000 barrels, according to a press release from the Ministry of Energy, Kazakhstan, yesterday.

“As of Jan, daily oil production at Tengizchevroil (TCO), the operator of one of Kazakhstan’s largest oil fields, reached 870,000 barrels,” the press release stated.

The ministry specified that, this figure is 45 percent higher than the average level for last year.

According to TCO, the project is expected to increase Tengiz’s total crude oil production by 12 million tonnes per year.

The Tengiz oil and gas field is one of the largest in Kazakhstan, with oil reserves of 3.1 billion tonnes. It is located in the Atyrau region. From Jan to Jun, last year, oil production at the field reached 14.4 million tonnes (114.6 million barrels), a 3.4 percent decrease compared to the first half of 2023.– NNN-XINHUA
