MEXICO CITY, Feb 1 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — Mexican authorities seized around four thousand kilograms of methamphetamine in the northern state of Baja California, the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Omar García, reported.
In a message on the social network X, the head of the department said that officers also arrested two men for transporting packages with approximately 20 kilograms of fentanyl and heroin in another operation carried out in the state of Sonora.
According to the official, the Attorney General’s Office participated in the actions, through the Criminal Investigation Agency, the Ministries of Defense, the Navy and Security and Citizen Protection, and the National Guard.
The administration implements a national security strategy based on four axes: attention to the causes, consolidation of the National Guard, strengthening of intelligence and investigation, and coordination with the federal entities.
As a result, authorities arrested 10,148 people for high-impact crimes and seized more than 90 tons of drugs and 4,981 firearms since the beginning of the current administration, on October 1 of last year, until January 26 of this year. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
