Kazakhstan To Increase Exports To Kyrgyzstan In 175 Product Categories

ALMATY, Jan 31 (NNN-KNA) – Kazakhstan is prepared to boost its exports to Kyrgyzstan, across 175 product categories, by more than 203 million U.S. dollars, according to the press service of the Kazakh government, yesterday.

This was revealed, following a meeting between Kazakh Prime Minister, Olzhas Bektenov and Kyrgyz Prime Minister, Adylbek Kasymaliyev, yesterday.

The expanded export range includes products from various sectors, including petrochemicals, food, metallurgy, machinery, pharmaceuticals, construction materials, among other goods.

Agriculture accounts for approximately 20 percent of total trade between the nations. Under the roadmap to boost agricultural exports, trade in the agro-industrial sector has grown by 5.5 percent, in the first eleven months of 2024, totalling 313.6 million dollars. Kazakhstan’s grain exports to Kyrgyzstan amounted to 40,400 tonnes, while flour exports totalled 53,200 tonnes.

It was also noted that, bilateral trade between the two countries reached 1.6 billion dollars in the first eleven months of 2024. Maintaining this positive growth, and enhancing the trade structure with a broader range of products, is a central goal for future progress.– NNN-KNA
