MANILA, Jan 28 (NNN-PNA) – Two men have been killed, after being trapped in the storage room of a ship that caught fire, while in the shipyard, in the Philippine capital, the Philippines’ Bureau of Fire Protection said, today.
Firefighter Ronaldo Sanchez said, the blaze, which broke out around 9.00 p.m. local time, last night, killed the two welders, both men, among the 25 workers repairing the vessel in the shipyard in Navotas City.
According to Sanchez, the victims’ bodies were found inside the storage room near the ballast tank of the vessel.
Sanchez added that, it took firefighters five hours to put out the fire.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.– NNN-PNA
