ISLAMABAD, Jan 27 (NNN-APP) – At least one person was killed and seven others were injured, in an explosion targeting a passenger bus, in Pakistan’s south-western Balochistan province, yesterday, local officials said.
The incident occurred in the Khuzdar district, as the bus was en route from the district to Rawalpindi district of the eastern Punjab province, Yasir Iqbal Dashti, district commissioner of Khuzdar, told media.
Preliminary investigations revealed that an improvised explosive device had been planted in a parked vehicle near the roadside, he added.
The injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital, where three people, including the bus conductor, are reported to be in critical condition, the official confirmed.
The area has been cordoned off, and an investigation is underway to determine the perpetrators behind the attack.
No group has claimed responsibility for the incident yet.– NNN-APP
