KUWAIT CITY, Kuwait, June 18 (NNN-KUNA) – Kuwait opened the first medical facility, dedicated to stem cell treatment and umbilical cord care, in the Gulf region.
At an inauguration ceremony of the Stem Cell and Umbilical Cord Centre, Kuwait’s Minister of Health, Bassel Al-Sabah, said that, stem cell research has grown into an increasingly significant field with much progress.
The centre represents a glimmer of hope for patients suffering from infectious diseases, besides being a step towards unprecedented healthcare advancement, he added.
Located in the Al-Sabah medical area, the facility contains three floors, with an area of 12,000 square metres, including testing and research laboratories, blood storage banks, research and medical libraries, and a lecture theatre.– NNN-KUNA
