Cambodia Made Over 666 Million USD From Rubber Latex Exports Last Year

PHNOM PENH, Jan 22 (NNN-AKP) – Cambodia earned 666.2 million U.S. dollars in revenue, from exports of natural rubber latex last year, up 35.4 percent from 492 million dollars in the year before, said a General Directorate of Rubber report, today.

“A tonne of rubber latex averagely cost 1,971 U.S. dollars last year, about 634 dollars higher than that of 2023,” Khun Kakada, acting director general of the General Directorate of Rubber, said in the report.

The report said, Cambodia exported 338,000 tonnes of the commodity last year, down 8.16 percent from 368,048 tonnes one year earlier.

The nation exports the commodity mainly to Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore and China.

Cambodia planted rubber trees on a total area of 425,443 hectares, in which the trees on 330,259 hectares, or 77.6 percent, are old enough to be tapped, the report said.– NNN-AKP
