HAVANA, Jan 14 (NNN-ACN) — In a post on X, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla thanked the Government of India for sending a shipment of medicines to the provinces in western Cuba affected by the Category 3 Hurricane Rafael on Nov 6, 2024 and described the relief aid as an example of the friendship between the two nations.
The Foreign Ministry announced that the humanitarian cargo includes antibiotics, antipyretics, analgesics, oral solutions, and muscle relaxants, destined to the provinces affected by the said weather event last November.
In June 2024, India also sent 90 tons of nine active pharmaceutical ingredients to Cuba for the production of essential antibiotics.

At a ceremony Friday marking the anniversary of bilateral relations, the Indian ambassador to Havana, Armstrong Chagsan, highlighted the ties of cooperation and friendship that both countries have kept for more than six decades.
