SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, June 17 (NNN-MAP) – Morocco and El Salvador agreed to establish a road-map (2019-2022), to include launching bilateral political consultations and strengthening cooperation at various levels.
A joint statement, signed by Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Nasser Bourita, and his Salvadoran counterpart, Alexandra Hill Tinoco, in the presence of President Nayib Bukele of Salvador, stated that, the road-map centres on regular political consultations, diplomacy, higher education, the youth, technical cooperation, human development, security cooperation, in addition to supporting development projects and the exchange of visits.
The road-map also includes boosting cooperation in fields of renewable energy, energy efficiency, management of illegal immigration, in addition to benefiting from the Moroccan expertise, in fighting poverty and social exclusion, combating organised crime and drug trafficking and border control.
The Salvadoran President, marking the occasion, announced the withdrawal of his country’s recognition of the so-called Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic and affirmed promoting Morocco’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty.– NNN-MAP
