SYDNEY, Jan 9 (NNN-AAP) – A woman has been critically injured in a shooting, in the Australian state of Queensland.
Queensland Police said that, the 33-year-old woman was shot in the centre of her back, while sitting in a car at a property in Tallebudgera, about 80 km south of Brisbane, at midday yesterday.
Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene where the woman was located and taken to hospital with a life-threatening injury.
Queensland Police Detective Inspector Mark Mooney said at a press conference that, the woman was at the property with a group of people to help the occupants move out.
He said that the woman was waiting in the car for several hours before being shot.
“It would appear the victim was sitting in the passenger seat of the vehicle and has been shot through the seat,” Mooney said.
“At this point in time, we don’t know who the shooter is.”
About 10 people who were at the property at the time of the shooting were taken for questioning.
A crime scene has been established at the property.
Mooney said that, detectives homicide squad have been asked to join the investigation because of the serious extent of the woman’s injury.– NNN-AAP
