TRIPOLI, Jan 7 (NNN-XINHUA) — Libya’s state-owned National Oil Corporation (NOC) said its subsidiary Zallaf Oil and Gas Exploration, Production and Refining Company had begun production at the Shadar oil field (NC-126) in the northeast of the country.
Production at the field reached 1,500 barrels of crude oil and more than 7.5 million cubic feet of associated gas per day from well A1/A on its first day of operation, the NOC said in a statement.
“This launch is considered an important achievement…which aims to enhance the production increase plan of the National Oil Corporation to support the national economy,” the statement added.
Zallaf, an exploration and production company established in 2013 and formally authorized by the NOC in 2017, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the NOC tasked with developing discovered but undeveloped oil and gas fields to increase national production. — NNN-XINHUA
