YANGON, June 16 (NNN-MIZZIMA) – A range of human rights issues including the crises in Rakhine, Kachin and Shan states were discussed in an Myanmar-EU forum in Nay Pyi Taw on 14 June, according to local media.
The Fifth Myanmar-EU Human Rights Dialogue was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The event was co-chaired by Kyaw Tin, Union Minister for International Cooperation and Mr. Eamon Gilmore (former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade of Ireland), the European Union’s Special Representative for Human Rights.
According to the report, a range of human rights issues were discussed including those related to labour rights, rights of women, children, migrants and people with disabilities, and the situation in Rakhine, Kachin and Shan states.
