KABUL, Dec 27 (NNN-BNA) – Afghanistan exported 3,960 tonnes of hand-woven carpets in 2024, spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Akhundzada Abdul Salam Jawad, told local media.
Quoting Jawad, TOLOnews reported yesterday that, the exported carpets were worth more than 15.3 million U.S. dollars, during the cited period.
He said, the valuable Afghan products have been mostly exported to Pakistan, Australia, Iran, Türkiye, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Germany.
Afghanistan’s main export items include hand-woven carpets, handicrafts, saffron, fresh and dry fruits, coal, and precious and semi-precious stones.– NNN-BNA
