NEW DELHI, Dec 22 (NNN-PTI) – Several persons were feared trapped under the debris of a multi-story building that collapsed, in India’s northern state of Punjab last night, according to a police officer.
The incident occurred in the state’s Mohali town.
A National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team, carried out the rescue and relief operation.
“One woman has been rescued and sent to a local hospital. Efforts are being made to check if anyone else is buried under the rubble,” said an NDRF official.
The building, which houses a gymnasium and a guest house, collapsed, while excavation for a new adjacent building was underway, according to media reports.– NNN-PTI
