Morocco Seized Nearly Four Tonnes Of Cannabis Resin

RABAT, Dec 19 (NNN-MAP) – Moroccan police seized nearly four tonnes of cannabis resin early yesterday, near the central city of Beni Mellal, according to a statement from the local police department.

The operation, conducted in collaboration with Morocco’s national security department, took place at a farm west of Beni Mellal. A 35-year-old suspect was arrested, and two cargo transport vehicles were confiscated. Authorities have launched a judicial investigation to identify additional suspects involved in the smuggling operation.

The seizure is part of Morocco’s ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking, with a particular focus on cannabis resin.

Morocco remains a primary producer of the substance, which is widely distributed across Europe and the Middle East.– NNN-MAP
