BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Dec 11 (NNN-ANN) – Brunei’s sales value of food and beverage services, in the third quarter of this year, decreased by 2.4 percent year-on-year, local media reported, yesterday.
According to the local daily, Borneo Bulletin, the data indicates a decrease in domestic demand. The fall in the sales revenue of food and beverage was primarily due to a decline in sales revenue from fast-food outlets by 11.2 percent, beverage-serving activities by 8.3 percent, other food services by 6.4 percent, and restaurants by 0.6 percent.
As for retail sales performance in Brunei, a decrease of 5.6 percent was recorded, compared to the third quarter of last year, with sales revenue decreasing to 392.4 million Brunei dollars (292.4 million U.S. dollars) in the third quarter of this year, according to Brunei’s Department of Economic Planning and Statistics.– NNN-ANN
